ISABELLE “IZZI” AND GEORGE BOURRIE
For Izzi Bourrie, Heights’ commitment to helping  
young people discover their “spark” is deeply personal. 
As a child, Izzi saved a broken hot plate thrown out  
by her father to figure out how it worked. Taking it 
apart and fixing it became the defining spark that  
inspired her career in STEM and engineering. Today, 
that experience shapes her and her husband George’s 
commitment to Heights. They know that passions aren’t 
always discovered in a textbook — they begin when  
a student gets the chance to explore, problem-solve, 
and realize: “I can do this.”
