As I would like to become a full-time artist,I think it is important to learn all of the rules in art before deciding to break them. I also wanted to learn more about the ins and outs of managing your finances and business as an artist. I like to think of college as a test run, where I can practice all of my future plans at the moment in a less urgent way while still developing the skills I will need after graduating.Whenever I learna new art technique or concept in class, I always try to apply it in practiceoutside of class to find my connection with it. College gives me a previewof whats to come.nowdont wait. My advice to high schoolers is to stay true to yourself and figure out what your purpose and goals are. They dont need to be complicated or intricate goals, but the first step is knowing what you want. Start thinking about your future Sarahi Franco-MoralesScience Leadership Academy, Class of 2023University of Pennsylvania, Class of 2027, B.A., CommunicationMy parents fought hard to provide me with access to an education, which is an opportunity they never had. I decided to attend college to attain financial success, to support my future self and my family, and so that I can pursuea career that will increase representation, knowledge, and support for the Latinx community. My goal is to lift some weight off the shoulders of other first-generation students, and help community members navigate throughsystems that have histories of injustices. College taught me how to work and interact with individuals from variousbackgrounds.College is where I learned the importance of making my voice heard, of raising my hand even when I feel out of place, and of listening to individuals who share different values.College is a time to experiment and explore the real world. The degree opens the doors but the experience gained throughout college will help me open the right ones. those are worth twice as much! My advice to high school students: don't try to replicate exactly what those around you do. Explore your interests, and follow what gives you satisfaction. Your individuality is what makes you special. Hold on to the happy moments "
